Beach fill work was completed on August 20. Construction equipment will be demobilizing off of the beach beginning on August 20, and should be complete by August 31. Most of the construction equipment will be moved off of the beach through Hanna Park, and the rest will be removed through 16th Avenue South in Jax Beach. Dune vegetation planting began on Tuesday August 19 and will probably be completed by September 30.

Beach fill work is at the north end of Hanna Park and will probably conclude by Tuesday, August 20. Expect that Hanna Park beach access #1 (at the POLES) will be CLOSED this weekend: Saturday – Monday, August 17-19. However, the Dolphin Plaza access #3 should be open. Construction equipment will be demobilizing off of the beach beginning on August 20, and should be complete by August 31. Most of the construction equipment will be moved off of the beach through Hanna Park, and the rest will be removed through 16th Avenue South in Jax Beach. Dune vegetation planting will begin on Tuesday August 20 and will probably be completed by September 30. The planting is expected to proceed from north to south – beginning near the Poles at Hanna Park.

Work continues in Northern Atlantic Beach and Hanna Park. Work is progressing towards the north into Hanna Park and is expected to transition to a submerged pipeline located offshore of Hanna Park in the near future. At that time, work shall resume towards the south. Once complete, construction shall proceed from the submerged pipeline towards the north to the county line and project completion. Dune vegetation is anticipated to begin on or about August 12th. Planting is expected to proceed from south to north throughout the beach restoration area. Planting is expected to be complete in September.

Construction of the Duval County SPP is progressing towards the north through Atlantic Beach an into Hanna Park. Over the next week, work will transition to the north end of Hanna Park and progress southward.

Beach fill operations continue in Atlantic Beach. The work zone continues to progress southward to intersect the previously constructed fill near 2nd Street. On or about July 24nd, work is expected to shift northward from the submerged pipeline located between 17th and 18th Streets.Vegetation of the constructed dune is anticipated to begin on or about the week of July 29. Work is expected to commence in Jacksonville Beach and progress northward.

Beach fill operations continue in Atlantic Beach. The work zone is presently near 15th Street and will progress southward to intersect the previously constructed fill near 2nd Street. On or about July 22nd, work is expected to shift northward from the submerged pipeline located between 17th and 18th Streets.

Beach fill operations will resume on 7/5, briefly heading to the north (to approximately 19th street), thence proceeding south to the submerged pipeline located between 17th and 18th Streets to meet the fill section previously completed in south Atlantic Beach

A roughly 1,000 ft section of Atlantic Beach will be closed to the public during the Fourth of July Holiday. The section will be between 17th and 18th street, 500 ft north and south of the pipeline landing. The 15th, 18th and 19th street public accesses will remain open. Pedestrians may need to exit the beach to walk around the closed section. Dredging operations are planned to resume the morning of 7/5. Crews will accommodate the public as best they can.

Work for the early part of this week is progressing south through Jacksonville Beach towards the pier. Later this week work is expected to progress northward from South Street in Neptune Beach.

Offloading of sand onto the beach will originate from the submerged pipeline at South Street in Neptune Beach. Work will progress towards the south for 7 to 10 days. Upon completion of work towards the south, beach fill will progress towards the north from the South Street submerged pipeline.

The Contractor resumed dredging and sand placement for the Duval County beach renourishment project yesterday, May 23.

Dredge delivery of sand to the beach will be delayed for 1 or 2 weeks, starting May 3rd, for mechanical reasons. But, shaping of dune repairs around walkovers and other structures will continue along south Jacksonville Beach, in advance of the dredge’s return.

Sand renourishment of the Jacksonville Beaches is anticipated to begin construction on April 27, 2024. The exact start date will fluctuate based on dredge arrival and weather. The project will span 8.6 miles of shoreline – from north Hanna Park to within 200 feet of the Duval/St. Johns County Line – including essentially all of Hanna Park, Atlantic, Neptune, and Jacksonville Beaches. Construction will start near 10th Avenue South in Jacksonville Beach and the contractor will initially progress southward for approximately 2 to 3 weeks. Then the contractor will flip direction and head north from weeks 4 to 16 (more or less). The construction (dredging) contractor will be Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Co., LLC. The project will be managed by the US Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District.
