City of Gulf Shores, AL, Beach Restoration Project

This project, funded by the City, was constructed in 2000-2001and involved the placement of 1.65 million cubic yards of sand along the eastern 3.1 miles of Gulf Shores, AL. 

Orange Beach/Gulf State Park/Gulf Shores Beach Restoration Project

The City of Orange Beach, the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (ADCNR), and the City of Gulf Shores, AL , pooled resources to restore 15.3 miles of the Baldwin County, AL Gulf of Mexico shoreline.

Recommended Development Criteria for Coastal High Hazard Areas

Olsen Associates, Inc., as the coastal engineering consultant to the City of Gulf Shores, AL, was tasked with reviewing (EINHS) ‘wave-height’ studies for Gulf-front development (principally condominium projects).  Study submittals had previously been quite varied, from rudimentary to excessively complex.
